Gerald Allen Creason

Heaven just got a lot more fun 😢 Gerald ‘Jerry’ Allen Creason, a retired defense contractor who had recently moved to Kingman, Arizona, passed away on Tuesday, April 14th from complications due to liver and kidney failure at Kingman Regional Medical Center at the age of 74. Jerry is survived by his wife, Lydelle Creason; mother, Joan Creason; uncles, Don, and Lanny (Sp. Jerene); brother Roy, children, Katrina (Sp. Jim), Laura (Sp. Kevin); stepchildren, Tobin (Sp. Jamie), Wendy (Sp. Matt); and grandchildren, Kacie, Braxton, Jamie, Olivia, Chloe, and Siena. He is also survived by 2 cats and by Candy, the dog that he constantly (and colorfully) demanded to be quiet but secretly liked. He is preceded in death by his father, Lymis; Aunt Barb; and Uncle Wendel Jerry was born in Victorville, California on January 22, 1952 to Lymis and Joan Creason. He attended school locally and graduated from Victor Valley High School in 1970. Upon graduation, Jerry studied electronics at Cal State San Bernardino and began his career in the field of electronics repair. Jerry worked at Cotton’s TV in Victorville, Ca and eventually purchased the company from the original owner. After years as a small business owner, Jerry decided to move on to the next chapter in his life- a career in the defense sector in direct support of the United States Marine Corps. Jerry was stationed in Barstow, California where he worked on various weapons systems including Javelin and TOW. During the course of his career, he held positions of increasing responsibility including management. He was deployed to Afghanistan multiple times and was always assigned an armed personal escort while in theater. Jerry later retired to enjoy more time traveling and spending time with his family. Jerry was a devoted father and loved spending time with his family. Summer was always a special time for Jerry as it was one of his favorite past times to go to the river with his children and constant companions, Uncle Don and Aunt Barb (with many others joining from time to time). The group took countless trips, and they were never without unexpected challenges. From overheating trucks and broken boat components to emergency repairs and alternators taking a plunge to the bottom of the lake. The trips were also filled with memories and laughter. Everyone loved Jerry’s laugh, it was contagious to say the least and nearly impossible to not at least crack a smile when it was heard. He was a beloved husband, father, mentor, and friend who will be sorely missed by all that knew him. A celebration of life will be held by his family at a later date.
